Bowen Technique, Allergy Relief and other therapies in London and Surrey with experienced therapist Gillian La Haye
I have always been interested in complementary therapies since being cured by homoeopathy of severely disfiguring psoriasis at the age of 11. But therapies are my second career. I was an international conference organiser before training in Reiki followed shortly by Bowen in 1995, once my small son was at full-time school.
I was accredited in
Bowen by Oswald Rentsch, one of the five people personally commissioned by Tom Bowen to document his work. I have since trained in
Hopi Auricular Therapy (Ear Candling), Flower Remedies and I practise Emotional Freedom Technique (EFT) because these therapies work well with Bowen and Reiki. They are deep but gentle, and complement one another. These therapies address many conditions, including Migraine, Stress, IBS, Asthma, Fatigue, Allergies, PMT, Earache, Frozen shoulder, Tinnitus, Cravings and addictions, Fears, Phobias, Depression and many others.
I regularly attend refresher courses in order to keep my knowledge in tip-top form; I work alongside members of the medical profession and other health professionals to the benefit of each patient.
I have worked with
the Prince's Foundation for Integrated Health in the interests of the regulation of complementary therapies; for four years I was,
Chair of the Bowen Therapists’ European Register, the largest of the three professional associations for UK Bowen Therapists and I served for some time on the
Executive Committee of the British Complementary Medicine Association (BCMA).
My practice is in
New Malden, within easy reach of buses and trains; Kingston Upon Thames, Surbiton, Wimbledon, Thames Ditton, East Molesey, Ham, Worcester Park, Sutton are all close by. I also regularly run a
Bowen for Asthma and Respiratory Conditions clinic at the ACE Complementary Health Centre in Surbiton. For more information about this please see the relevant page on this website.
I have been practising Complementary therapies for more than 10 years and have very broad experience in treating people suffering from a wide variety of conditions. My practice has built up on personal recommendation. My main concern is always to make each individual feel cared for, understood and comfortable with the therapy process. I give people all the time they need and treat each person according to their individual needs, requirements and preferences. What is important to me is that each person is restored to optimum health as soon as possible. I do not press anyone to return for treatments they do not need or want. One maxim of Bowen is 'Less is more' and I apply that throughout my practice.
